A large number of commercial enterprises take advantage of our gas, plumbing and maintenance services; but by far the majority of work we undertake in commercial premises is for electrical work.

For this we provide a huge range of services as we recognise that an electrical problem for a commercial customer will probably mean loss of revenue so it is essential to keep your electricity in perfect working order.

Where the public is involved the NICEIC regulations are more stringent than in the home so inspecting and testing in commercial properties is carried out at more frequent intervals. Also the Local Authorities require certain businesses to have a Portable Appliance Test (PAT) carried out annually and we send a reminder to our customers when this test is due so that they never fall foul of the inspectors.

We also offer a periodic test and inspection which is a report detailing the condition of the electrical installation. It does not include light bulbs, fluorescent fittings, passive infra red sensors or equipment vulnerable to insulation resistance testing. If any faults are found during the periodic test and inspection they are reported to you in detail similar to an MOT on a car.

The faults will be coded from 1-4 according to safety issues, compliance with regulations and items which are recommended but not essential. You can then decide how much remedial work you wish to have carried out as a result of the periodic test and inspection. When making your judgements, you can of course seek the secondary opinion of our N.I.C.E.I.C. registered engineers to help you come to a final decision.
